1Vision Sports & Entertainment proudly congratulates the company’s Co-CEO, Patrick Bedell, on earning his Juris Doctor degree from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. The accomplishment was commemorated at a graduation ceremony on May 20th, 2019.
Prior to law school, Patrick graduated Cum Laude from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and a minor in Business.
“It has been an absolutely incredible journey towards this moment,” Bedell said. “I couldn’t have done it without my friends and family and honestly they deserve congratulations just as much as I do.”
In high school, Patrick created a plan for the future and identified his goals to achieve that plan. His law degree was one of the major steps along the way. “It was not easy, but I am an incredibly committed person to things I am passionate about, I was going to do whatever I needed to do to get this done,” said Bedell.
While working toward his JD, and prior, Patrick developed a vast amount of professional experience. He worked for several hockey organizations prior to attending law school in roles ranging from scout to color commentator. He then went to work at a sports agency where he spent three years representing athletes and learning the ins and outs of the industry. Along the way, he worked as the assistant marketing director for the Nassau County Parks Department, then in several legal roles in the Nassau County Attorney’s Office. He also spent time as a writer and reporter for a Los Angeles-based popular-culture magazine.
“I never pass up an opportunity” Bedell said. “I feel like it helped me to be a well-rounded human being, and ultimately allowed me to be ready for the opportunity of starting 1Vision with Jake.”
Aside from finishing his undergraduate degree a semester early, Patrick has been in school for most of his life. Though he always was involved in many outside activities while in school, he is excited to transition to his next chapter.
“It is going to be different, for sure, but my love of what we have done and what we are continuing to do at 1Vision makes the transition really exciting.” Bedell said. “It has always been my dream to be able to help athletes and entertainers the way that we do, and I couldn’t ask for better people to do it with.”
“I am excited to wake up every single day and make a difference doing something I am so passionate about. I just know the future is so bright.”
